Wow, I haven't touched this thing in a month!

There's not been much reason to update, really. The dorm has been quiet, everyone's lives seemed to be more settled with less drama, and I've spent extra time working on correspondence for the Floo Network Authority, which has led to a nice bonus that I put into my savings account. I'm not sure what I'm going to do with it. I'm sure I'll eventually need it for something...

Exams are right around the corner, but I've only put in any time towards Herbology. I can't convince myself to be bothered with the rest of them.

Finally, it's really a bat, not a butterfly. I can die without shame.

Today has been a great day. I always am a little nervous when everything goes better than I expect it to, and while I suppose the day isn't over yet, even if something bad happened now, I'm not sure it could mar the rest it.

I'm lucky enough to only have one class on Tuesdays - Transfiguration - and I was able to transfigure a lamp into a rabbit on the first try. Then, for the rest of the day, I spent time catching up on other assignments and playing a pick up game of football with my brother after lunch. I don't really have anything special that happened, per se, but it was nice that everything felt relatively carefree.

[Hexed to Nate, Sam, and Pig]

Right, so Nate's already heard some of it, but I only want to tell the story of my crazy Easter break once, so here it goes.

I have a tattoo on my arse. It was a butterfly, but now it's a bat. I was ridiculously pissed, and I ended up stripping off most of my clothes in public and getting arrested. Fantastic, no?

For the record, I'm well aware of how stupid it was and promise I won't be doing anything of the sort again - ever. But, well, I figured the tattoo needed an explanation.

So, I don't know what your plans are over the break, but if you're not staying at the school, I want to invite you to Easter dinner with my mum, brother, and I. Easter's a family holiday, you know? I wanted to make sure you have the opportunity to share it with family, but only if you want to. We'd be glad to have you.

Whatever you've heard, it's probably true. Moving on...

I've misplaced a pocket-size, stuffed bat. He's It's made out of brown fabric strips and his name is Bruce. I did a bit of wandering around the castle after Transfiguration class yesterday, so he it could be anywhere.

Please let me know if you picked him up!

[Pig]

I was really glad to see you show up last night. You really worried me, mate. Please, please, if it gets to where you can't take being in the room anymore, tell me, and we can go for a walk or whatever you want to do. And I won't even talk if you don't want me to. That's pretty normal, though. Okay?

It's been a long week, so I'm very glad it's Friday. I don't have classes at all on Fridays, which is pure luck. I spent the day catching up, and then I wrote a letter to my mum because I realized I hadn't done so in a long time.

I've seen a lot of talk over the journals about the Quidditch game this weekend. I'll be routing for Ravenclaw, of course. Sorry, Gryffindors. Luag's family, so of course I want him to do well. I think I'll see if Kevin wants to go with me to watch since I actually have time this weekend.

In other news, this week's herbology lab was insightful. Who'd have guessed that mandrakes pollinated their population in such a similar way to humans? It seems so unlikely, given how they're roots and seeds. It also takes the word "pollination" to a whole new level.
